Flower Care Instructions

Flower Care - Loué

Thank you for choosing Loué ♡

We use only fresh, seasonal flowers and pay special attention to the quality, longevity, and natural beauty of every bouquet.

Flowers are living things, so proper care helps keep them fresh and in full bloom for much longer.

Before placing the flowers in a vase:
  • Remove the bouquet from the AquaBox and take off the shipping packaging

  • Use only a clean vase and fresh, cool water

  • Trim the stems by 1–2 cm with a sharp knife or pruning shears

  • Do not use scissors—they crush the stems’ vessels and impair water uptake

  • Remove any leaves that might end up in the water

  • Change the water daily and rinse the vase

  • Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, air conditioners, and drafts

  • Do not place flowers near fruit—fruit releases ethylene, which accelerates wilting

  • If possible, leave the bouquet overnight in a cooler room

Stem Types and Proper Care

Different flowers have different stem structures and absorb water in different ways.

That is why different care conditions are important for specific groups of plants.

Woody Stems
Dense woody branches absorb water more slowly, so they require a larger cross-sectional area and a greater amount of moisture.
  • Refresh the cut at a 45° angle

  • It is recommended to slightly split the lower part of the stem 2–3 cm

  • Use plenty of water

  • Change the water daily

This group includes:
hydrangea
lilac
viburnum
forsythia
magnolia
Flowers with high water requirements
These flowers actively release moisture and require constant access to water.
  • Refresh the cut at a 45° angle

  • Use a moderate or generous amount of water

  • Make sure the water level doesn't drop too much

  • Change the water every day

This group includes:
roses
peonies
eustomas
Flowers with moderate water requirements
These plants are sensitive to water pollution and thrive best at moderate moisture levels.
  • Keep the stems trimmed at a 45° angle

  • Use a moderate amount of water

  • Rinse the vase regularly and change the water

  • Do not let the water become cloudy.

This group includes:
alstroemeria
matthiola
antirrhinum
delphinium
Bulbous and watery stems
These flowers contain a large amount of their own moisture and do not tolerate standing water well. Excess water can accelerate tissue softening and shorten the flowers' vase life.
  • Trim the stems straight across, without an angle

  • Use a small amount of water—2–5 cm

  • Change the water daily

  • Store the flowers in a cool place

This group includes:
tulips
daffodils
hyacinths
alliums
ornithogalums
Soft-stemmed flowers
The tender stems are particularly susceptible to bacteria and excess moisture.
  • Refresh the cut end immediately

  • Use a small amount of water—about 1/3 of the stem's length

  • Change the water daily

  • Keep the water clean

This group includes:
ranunculus
gerberas
Calla Lilies
Calla lilies have thick, watery stems and are particularly sensitive to excess moisture and bacteria in the water.
  • Trim the stems straight across or at a slight angle

  • Use a small amount of water—about 3–5 cm

  • Change the water daily

  • Avoid submerging the stems too deeply in the water

  • Keep the flowers away from heat and direct sunlight

If there is too much water, calla lily stems can become soft and lose their shape.

Flowers with a delicate vascular system
Some flowers are particularly sensitive to water quality, temperature, and their proximity to other plants.

Carnation

  • prefers a small amount of water

  • is sensitive to water contamination

  • it is best not to place carnations in the same vase as roses

Anthurium

  • likes clean water and a stable room temperature

  • does not tolerate cold or sudden temperature changes well

  • The stems should be recut at a 45° angle.

Caring for Arrangements in Floral Foam

The arrangements are arranged in floral foam, which retains moisture and gradually supplies the flowers with water.

To keep the arrangement fresh longer:

  • add a small amount of water to the center of the arrangement daily

  • make sure the floral foam remains slightly moist at all times

  • do not let the floral foam dry out completely

  • keep the arrangement away from direct sunlight and heat sources

  • do not remove flowers from the arrangement—this disrupts the flow of nutrients to the stems

Caring for Arrangements in Floral Foam

The arrangements are arranged in floral foam, which retains moisture and gradually supplies the flowers with water.

To keep the arrangement fresh longer:

— Add a small amount of water to the center of the arrangement daily;

— Make sure the floral foam remains slightly moist at all times;

— do not let the floral foam dry out completely;

— keep the arrangement away from direct sunlight and heat sources;

— do not remove flowers from the arrangement—this disrupts the flow of nutrients to the stems.

Important to remember

Every flower blooms in its own way.

The shape of the bud, the color, and the degree of bloom may naturally change as the bouquet ages.

This is a natural characteristic of fresh flowers.

With care for every detail,
